There are a few Australian visas that allow people to own and manage new or existing businesses in Australia or to invest in businesses in Australia. The process begins with a submission of Expression of Interest (EOI) under a visa subclass. Only if the requirements for that subclass are met will you have the chance of be invited by to apply for your visa. You cannot apply without an invitation.
Which visa subclass?
If you want to own and manage a new or existing business in Australia, or to invest in Australian and maintain business and investment activities here, your visa might fall under the Business Innovation and Investment programme.
This visa subclass happens in two stages, with the second stage happening after the conditions of the first provisional visa has been met. The application for this visa can be made onshore or offshore and there are no conditions on your location at the time the visa is granted.
